Via Dolorosa

Once a year, during Passion Week, our entire church facility is transformed into 1st-century Jerusalem. Visitors experience a closer encounter with the reality of Christ’s final days leading up to Calvary.

The “pilgrimage” begins on a street in the Old City of Jerusalem that leads to the upper chamber, site of the last Supper. From there, travel to Gethsemane, then follow the Via Dolorosa (Latin for "Way of Grief" or "Way of Suffering"), the path that Jesus walked, carrying his cross, on the way to his crucifixion.

Along the route, enter the chambers of the Sanhedrin and witness the plot against Jesus. Listen to Herod and Pilate and hear their condemnations. Contemplate Christ’s torture where he was scourged and crowned with thorns. Then travel to Calvary and meet the soldiers who gambled for Jesus' clothes. Be a part of the crowd that witnesses Christ’s crucifixion. The Via Dolorosa is a once-a-year tour de force of remembrance to stimulate and encourage thoughtful devotion to the most historically significant event in human history.
